The book documents the development of the relatively young field of graphic design history from 1983 to today, underscoring the aesthetic, theoretical, political and social tensions that have underpinned it from the beginning.

Hunter King does a 2 hour show of instrumental surf & rock...

Hunter King does a 2 hour show of instrumental surf & rock & roll called Storm Surge of Reverb on WTUL Mondays 4-6PM.
Moon Trip is a mostly vinyl mix of weird, wonderful and wild sounds. Some of them are favorites from the surf show, some of them proudly sporting yowling vocals never featured on that show. It’s not all too spacey, and definitely has a few tempo swings. Never know what to expect on a Moon Trip.

Borrowing from bomb shelter and bunker pre-apocalyptic moods, this exhibition focuses on terrors of military prowess - from Cold War tensions, Balkan massacres, violence, revolutions and the societies these events leave in their wake. The images offered address the past with a message of urgency that talk to the present and imagine the future, at an end of an era, in the light of our rapidly changing social and political environment.

Pencil in these additional events occurring during this exhibition on your calendars: May 13, June 2 & 3, 3 pm - exhibition walk through and screening of ‘Interkosmos’ by Jim Finn (‘71) / May 19 & 20, 8 pm – performance by ‘Twos and Ones’

Good Children Gallery is located at 4037 St. Claude Avenue, operating hours: Sat & Sun 12-5pm.

Israel Lund is an artist living in New Jersey who’s fascination with skateboarding, zines, and aesthetic theory defines his work. Recently Israel was interviewed for the blog LVL 3. You can read the interview here.

The recent zine, “RE-CORDINGS”, is half an essay by Napalm Death singer, Nicholas Bullen discussing the use of the voice in art and half xeroxes of Israel’s own silk screen process paintings.
