Opening this Saturday, February 25, SPACES brings together Antenna, The Front, and Good Children Gallery at the Contemporary Arts Center for four months of programming. The second floor of the CAC will be divided amongst the cooperative galleries for exhibition space, events, performances, and screenings with front window displays highlighting work from Parse Gallery, T-LOT, and Staple Goods collectives. Additionally, three site-specific projects by Rachel Brown & James Goedert, Bob Snead, and Jonathan Traviesa will be outside the second-floor exhibition space.

This weekend will see the close of Prospect 2. One among the several closing festivities will be ‘Occupy The Pearl’ at 639 Desire St. in the Bywater on Sunday evening starting at 5 pm and going until questionably late hours.
For those who haven’t seen this show, its highly recommended to make it to the last call.
New Orleans artist Skylar Fein secured a space to showcase local graffiti artists from the past to present in a live painting two-part show entitled, Bombthreat. The final event show took place at 4035 Washington Ave. on Dec. 22, 2011. See more of the images here.

At the start of Prospect.2 New Orleans in October, artist/architect/wonderful guy Bob Tannen invited all interested parties to help paint a series of canvases at his Art House on the Levee studio in the Holy Cross neighborhood. The result is a 12-part, 200-ft. mural created by 300 artists, students, children, friends, family and neighbors.
The canvases will be on display starting this Saturday at The Ideal Auto Repair Warehouse, 422 Girod St. through Jan. 29.

The Staple Goods gallery collective celebrates the holidays with their group show Fresh Produce III on Saturday, December 10, from 6 to 9 pm, through January 8.
Artists exhibiting are Thomasine Bartlett, Aaron Collier, Robyn Denny, William DePauw, Daniel Kelly, Anne Nelson, Laura Richens, and Cynthia Scott.

New Orleans, Jonathan Ferrara Gallery’s, P.2 Projects: An International Group Exhibition features paintings, sculpture, video, installation and fabric works. Eighteen artists fill the entire gallery space and showcases creative visions from across the geographic and creative spectrum.
The show will run until Jan 24th.
