Pods curated by Ricardo Barba, focuses on sound as its own aesthetic experience. The show invites viewers to step within small handmade chambers to encounter deep reverberations and strange sound bearing mechanisms.

NY-based Paul Ramirez Jonas creates artwork and sculpture to engage dialogue with audiences in public spaces. His latest piece, The Commons allows the viewer to engage a riderless cork monument, giving voice and publishing to anyone who wishes.

New Orleans own, wildly prolific artist Dawn DeDeaux’s The Goddess Fortuna and her Dunces In An Effort To Make Sense of It All will be up in the evening hours till the end of January during Prospect.2 at the Brulatour House and Courtyard across from the Historic New Orleans Collection.

New Orleans-based hydro-formed steelworker and welding artist Andrew Shrock will create an interactive space within Parse Gallery with the help of Rabid Hands, opening Jan 6th, from 6-10pm. Should be a wonderful showing.

New Orleans artists, Stephen Kwok and Dave Greber collaborated on this quasi-video installation ‘take an item, leave an item’ object-oriented altar [entitled Alt], which is currently on display at T-Lot, through Jan 29th. Best seen in the evening.
Prospect.2 Artist Robert Tannen is inviting artists and community members to the Art House on the Levee in Holy Cross to collaborate on his project Art by Committee. A 57 ‘ by 9’ canvas will be found at 4725 Dauphine Street. Visitors are invited to mark upon the canvas and create this work communally. The event begins this Saturday from 11 am until 7pm. Opening celebration and tour of other art sites in Holy Cross too from 3-7pm on free mini-buses from the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Loyola, and the Windsor Court Hotel. Artists and others can continue to work on the canvass during prospect.2 through January.
