New Orleans-based video artist Nina Schwanse opens with her Trouble Every Day MFA Thesis Exhibition, April 14th from 6-9p at the UNO St. Claude Gallery at 2429 St. Claude Ave.

This Thursday, March 22nd at 6pm, Kirschman Hall Room 129 at the University of New Orleans, Ann Markusen, Director of the Arts Economy Initiative will lecture on a national scan on creative place making commissioned by the NEA and the Mayor’s Institute for Design.
Recent Master of Fine Art from University of New Orleans, Jason Derouin, has a great feature in Nola.com written by recent addition to the arts page writer/artist Georgia Kennedy.
Derouin creates 1:12 scale models of interiors that call to mind retro “bachelor pads” and then photographs the scenes to create very beautiful prints.

New Orleans-learned artists Robyn Denny and Jason Derouin’s MFA thesis shows will open this Saturday, March 12 at the UNO St. Claude Gallery as part of Second Saturday openings in the St. Claude Arts District. The opening reception is from 6-8pm at 2429 St. Claude Avenue.
